The Power of the Pivot

I’m honored to be a part of a tight knit group of ladies who, even through the pandemic, have stayed in touch and supported one another. Have you ever noticed how your body feels after you’ve had a conversation with a friend who needed their spirits lifted? You felt better, too, right?

Since February, I’ve noticed more and more ’empowerment’ groups popping up on Facebook and in conversations with clients. Women’s circles, men’s circles, Zoom calls, use of apps like House Party and Facebook Messenger are bringing people together. This undoubtedly proves something I’ve known all along – we need connection. Connection begins first with ourselves. Fourteen years into my massage therapy practice, I began to realize a lot of my clients were asking me for guidance. Not just guidance about things they can do at home to keep their muscles relaxed between sessions, but guidance about how to overcome thought processes and paradigms. They want to know how to better connect with themselves, prioritize their health (mental and physical), work toward goals and achieve balance in quality of life.

Two years ago I chose to become a Life Coach and worked with a mentor. Since then, I’ve continued working with a performance coach here in Springfield, Missouri, and a spiritual guide/life coach out of San Diego. I wholeheartedly believe in holding myself accountable. I’ve lived a beautifully messy, full and diverse life that has given me the opportunity to have many different kinds of experiences and engage with many kinds of people who share their personal journeys. I’ve learned so much in my 43 years and strive to help anyone who is ready to help themselves.

This fall of 2020 I’m pivoting. Due to the strange times of covid, the massage therapy industry has been a bit challenging to navigate. Rather than panicking about how to move forward with my career, I’m listening and following the signs the universe has sent me to officially begin helping clients remotely.
